An Update

June 9, 2008

Let’s See

  • School is out for the summer, kind of?
  • Took a 10 day trip to Egypt.
  • Living at home is not fun.
  • Work is back to owning my life.

School got out just about the end of April. It was nice to finally be done, but now I miss being there more and more. My grades turned out really good for the semester (3.9 – who – hoo). It’s a good feeling to have that 1st year out of the way, and I had a good time getting it out of the way. I got home about 2ish weeks before my new job started so I found myself very bored for those 2 weeks. I’ve always been from the mindset that time=money, I had alot of time, and very little money coming from it which means me=not happy.

I started my new job shortly after the 2ish weeks of boredom which i was very excited about. This new job is alot different from what i was used to before. Before at my old company I now realize I did alot of sales\consulting work. Which basically means I worked on my own schedule and pace. Now I have 4 bosses that sit not more than a stones throw away from me who want things done yesterday. Much more demanding.

About a week ago I got back from a 10 day trip to Egypt with my aunt. The trip was unreal, It’s hard to describe it in words, or even in pictures. I thought of writing a whole post telling about my trip and each day but I decided not to because #1 – I really don’t have the time. #2 – I’d rather tell you in person.  But like I said, the trip was unreal. It really makes you think twice about how great it is to live in America. If you’d like to see all of the 300 some pictures, or hear about my trip, i’d be happy to tell you.

As said before living at home isn’t very fun. I really took for granted living on my own at school. I miss it more and more everyday. I’m really excited for the new townhouse we’ll be moving into in august, It’s going to be unreal.

Like I said before, I’m really enjoying my new job and it is VERY demanding. It was really hard transitioning over to a 6:00AM to 3 or 4:00PM work day, but everything is fine now. This new job has really given me a great feel for the corporate world and it’s exactly the next step I needed to take in my carrier. So I work Monday - Friday at my new job, some Saturdays I work for my old employer, and I still do work for some of my personal clients. So basically I “work” 7 days a week, Remember time=money. It’s ironic really, i’m making more money than I ever have before in my life, but at the same time I’m spending more. It seems like spending amounts go in steps. When your 16, you get your car, spend some money putting a stereo and such in there, and you say to yourself “I have everything I want, What more could I need?” This quickly fades away about 18. Before you go to college you find yourself needing all kinds of new stuff, on top paying for school things. The 18 step isn’t to bad to handle, but as i’ve been experiencing first hand, the next step after this is quite a leap. Yes, I have everything I could ever “need” but the word “need” means nothing. I’m finding the next step of things I need is very pricey. But that in no way hinders me from moving to it.

It’s been hard seeing my friends with the never ending schedule I have, but there is nothing I can really do to fix it. There are only 24hours in a day and if there is the possibility to make some money in that time, I’m going to take every opportunity I can. Life has gotten very expensive.

Other than that, things a good – i’ll try to keep this more updated.
